About Merit Cares
Merit Brass, a family-owned and operated business, is committed to our associates and our local communities. As a result, Merit Cares was started in 2011 as a community outreach program.
It is through Merit Cares that Merit associates have an opportunity to not only give back but also engage with associates from different departments. Merit Cares enhances collaboration, trust, and respect. In addition, this program gives our associates an opportunity to learn more about each other personally.
Merit Cares is currently lead by our fourth generation which includes: Kevin Lipp (Director of Pipe Sales) and Kyle Schlessinger (Production Scheduler). The team is also comprised of Charity Coordinators who not only generate ideas but also support the execution of Merit Cares events. These coordinators generate enthusiasm around serving the community. Our 2023 team includes:
Merit Cares has recently held the following events for our associates: food truck service, holiday events to celebrate our accomplishments throughout the year with family and coworkers, luncheons, and fantasy sport competitions. Each of these events gives Merit's entire team of associates an opportunity to break away from work and enjoy each other's company.
Over the years, Merit Cares has helped Bishop Cosgrove, United Way's Day of Caring at Rainbows Babies and Children's Ronald McDonald House, local schools with school supplies, Make A Wish Foundation, Harvest for Hunger, and more.
Cleveland, OH. In May 2022, Merit Cares and all of our associates in Cleveland donated dry goods for the Cleveland Foodbank. Our total collection weighed 80 pounds and will sustain over 40 families.
